Indian mobile manufacturing company, Micromax, has announced their ultra thin smartphone, Micromax Canvas Silver 5, which is mere 5.1 mm thick. The company claims it to be the slimmest phone in the world. Now you must be thinking about Vivo and Oppo phones, that are slightly slimmer than Canvas Sliver 5, but Micromax criteria of measuring the thickness is “end to end” and therefore Vivo and Oppo do not meet this criteria due to their camera.
The company has priced their ultra thin phone at Rs. 17,999. Canvas Sliver 5 features a beautiful 4.8 inch HD AMOLED screen with a resolution of 720 x 1280 pixels. The phone runs on Snapdragon 410 chipset with 2 GB of RAM. At a price of Rs. 17,999, the phone seems to be a bad deal, but if you want to own “the world’s slimmest phone” then you need to bear with the price.
Micromax Canvas Silver 5 has a primary camera of 8 MP, while the front camera is a 5 MP shooter. The phone support both 3G and 4G networks. The phone will come with Android 5.0.2 Lollipop out of the box. The internal storage of Canvas Silver 5 is 16 GB and there is no scope for storage expansion. The phone has integrated 2,000 mAh battery. Overall the hardware specifications does not fantasies us but the design and looks do.
